  • President

    Nicole Zannetides is pursuing the Master of Corporate Law (MCL) at the University of Cambridge. She previously read Law at King’s College London (LLB) and completed an LLM in Intellectual Property Law at University College London, graduating with Distinction and in the top 5% of her class. At UCL, she specialised in intellectual property law, with a focus on trademarks and patents as well as in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

    Nicole’s academic achievements include being awarded the prestigious Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn. Following her studies at Cambridge, she will undertake the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, with the aim of qualifying as a commercial barrister.

    Her professional interests lie at the intersection of commercial and company law, intellectual property, and dispute resolution. She is particularly focused on how ADR can enhance access to justice and efficiency in commercial disputes, as well as on the evolving challenges in IP law arising from AI developments. She has gained practical experience through mini-pupillages, mooting competitions, and legal research, which have strengthened her commitment to advocacy and litigation.

    Nicole aspires to build a career at the Commercial Bar, combining rigorous legal practice with contributions to scholarship and public debate. She is committed to mentorship and supporting aspiring lawyers, particularly women entering the profession, by sharing insights into both academia and practice. Her vision is to contribute not only as an advocate in court but also as a member of the broader professional community shaping the future of commercial law in the UK and beyond.

    Georgina is a final-year Law student at Downing College. She is particualrly fond of studying Civil Law and International Law. Before studying in Cambridge, she completed her IB in Munich and Sevenoaks. Georgina intends to make use of her international background to become a lawyer specialised on cross-border transactions and international commercial law.

    Wamika Jha is pursuing the Master of Law (LLM) at the University of Cambridge. She completed her undergraduate degree in law in India in 2020 and is qualified as an advocate there. She has also passed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination and is pending admission as a solicitor in England and Wales.

    Before Cambridge, Wamika worked as a senior associate at a leading Indian law firm, specialising in public and private M&A and private equity. She advised on a range of transactions as well as on corporate governance and regulatory mandates for listed companies.

    Her professional interests lie in corporate finance, securities law, and corporate governance. Following her studies, she intends to return to practice in M&A and private equity.

    She is excited to be part of the Cambridge Women in Law community and looks forward to contributing to a supportive and inspiring network of women in the profession.

    Jemma Hayden is a second-year Law student at Downing College. Her primary academic and professional interests lie in intellectual property, defamation and reputation management, and financial restructuring. She aspires to a career in corporate law that responds to the changing demands of the commercial landscape, and is considering pursuing an LLM or the SQE after graduation. As Secretary of the Cambridge Women in Law Society, Jemma looks forward to helping build a community that empowers women to explore diverse legal paths with the networks, resources, and confidence to succeed.

    Bernardette Solares is an MPhil candidate in Education, Globalisation, and International Development at Cambridge University. Her interests lie in the employment of overseas education lending to further develop policy in education and enforce it as a global human right. She graduated with distinction from her Bachelors of Arts in International Security and Conflict Resolution, specializing in international law and justice in the global system. Before graduating, Bernardette spent a year at National Taiwan University deepening her understanding of East Asian politics and practical applications of international law whilst completing a complementary specialization in Chinese Mandarin.

    She is excited to join the Cambridge Women in Law Society and connect with those passionate about the intersection of law, justice, and social issues, and to find a community that advocate for a positive change.
